Best discount stacking apps for Shopify, compared

Four of the five apps that show up on “best discount stacking app” lists have a free plan — and one of those four can't actually be used on a live store. The rest cap in three different units — number of offers, number of live variants, and monthly orders. Every figure below was read from that app’s own Shopify App Store listing on the same day and quoted verbatim.

The short answer

Dealeasy caps its free plan at 5 offers, fine for a single stacked promotion. Discounty caps at 10 live discounted variants and 3 campaigns. Kite resets a 50-order allowance every month. AIOD — despite appearing on nearly every stacking roundup — restricts its free tier to development stores only, so it cannot run on a live storefront at all. NUO AI, our own app disclosed below, states no cap, with a much shorter review history than the other four.

What ends each free plan

Combining more than one discount type on an order — a volume break plus a code, say — is the feature all five apps compete on. The cap and whether the free plan even applies to a live store is what actually differs. Ratings and review counts are as shown on the Shopify App Store on 3 November 2026.

Source for every row: the app’s own Shopify App Store pricing section, read 3 November 2026. The App Store showed pricing in INR for Dealeasy and AIOD in this session; USD figures above are converted at the page’s own stated rate and rounded. Discounty's listing stated its regular USD price directly.

AIOD is the one to read carefully. Its stacking feature set — native code stacking plus automatic volume, BOGO and gift offers — is genuinely strong, which is why roundups keep recommending it. But the listing states its free tier is for development stores only. On a live storefront, there is no free AIOD plan; it starts on a paid tier from roughly $9.99/month.

Who wrote this, and the bias you should assume

This comparison is published by NUO AI, and NUO AI is one of the five apps in it. That is a real conflict of interest and no amount of methodology removes it.

What we did to keep it usable anyway: every competitor’s pricing and rating was read from its own Shopify App Store listing on 3 November 2026 rather than copied from another roundup; each entry below names something that app does better than NUO AI; and NUO AI’s own entry states its thin review history rather than burying it.

If you would rather not take a vendor’s word for a vendor comparison, the useful part of this page is the cap-unit table above — every figure in it is checkable against a public listing in under a minute.

The five apps

NUO AI — the only uncapped free tier here, and the newest app here

Our app 5.0 · thin review history · NUO AI, Manhattan NY

Start with the caveat. Every other app on this page has between 365 and 1,370 App Store reviews. NUO AI has far fewer. If track record is your selection criterion, this is the wrong app on this page and one of the others is the right one.

What it offers in exchange is layered offer logic — a gift-with-purchase or BOGO trigger stacked on top of a sitewide discount — with no stated cap on offer count, variants, or orders, at $0 with no paid tier to graduate into.

Dealeasy — a simple offer cap that suits one stacked promotion at a time

4.9 · 642 reviews · Logbase

Dealeasy runs volume discounts and quantity breaks via a table or quantity-selector widget, plus mix-and-match bundles, cart goals, free gifts and BOGO — all stackable against each other on the same product.

The cap counts offers, not orders. “Up to 5 offers” on the free plan is enough for a store running one or two stacked promotions at a time, but a store wanting five separate collection-specific campaigns plus a sitewide sale will hit the ceiling fast.

Discounty — AI-assisted setup, capped by variant count rather than orders

4.9 · 1,314 reviews · Discounty

Discounty explicitly markets “combine product, order and shipping discounts in one code” as discount stacking, with a Lumos AI assistant that sets up sales on the free plan and auto-updates discounts when product data changes.

The cap is variant-based, which scales oddly with catalog size. “10 live discounted variants” and 3 campaigns suits a small catalog running a focused sale; a 200-SKU store wanting a sitewide stack hits the ceiling immediately regardless of order volume.

Kite — a monthly-resetting order cap across every discount type it runs

4.9 · 1,370 reviews · Skai Lama

Kite runs tiered and volume discounts, BOGO and free gifts from one app on native Shopify Functions, with stacking available across its own discount types and redemption on the product page, cart and checkout.

The cap is order-based and resets monthly, not tied to a fixed offer or variant count. “First 50 discount orders free each month” covers however many stacked discount types a store runs, which makes it the most flexible free cap in this comparison for a store running several promotions rather than many SKUs.

  • Next tier$29/mo once over 50 orders · 7-day free trial on higher tiers
  • Beats NUO AI at1,370 reviews, native Shopify Functions performance, and no fixed offer-count or variant-count ceiling

AIOD — strong native code stacking, but the free plan doesn't apply to your store

4.8 · 365 reviews · Cirkle Studio

AIOD explicitly advertises stacking native Shopify discount codes with automatic offers — volume discounts, BOGO, bundles, free gifts, even POS-level discounts — which is a more complete native-code-stacking feature set than most of this category offers.

The catch is who the free tier is for. The listing states its free plan is “for development stores only.” A live storefront starts on the Basic tier at roughly $9.99/month with a 15-day trial. It belongs on a shortlist for the feature set, not on a list of free options for a live store.

How to pick, in one question

Work out whether your limit is going to be order volume, catalog size, or number of simultaneous offers — the caps bite differently depending on which one you'll actually hit first.

What this comparison does not tell you

Three things it deliberately does not claim, because the evidence for them does not exist:

It does not measure margin impact across apps. How much a stacked discount actually costs depends entirely on your own rules, not which app enforces them. None of these apps makes stacking free of margin risk — they make it easier to configure and track.

It does not verify native-code-plus-automatic behavior side by side. Shopify's own rules for how codes and automatic discounts combine have changed in recent years; AIOD and Discounty both advertise support for this, but exact behavior on your theme should be tested before launch, not assumed from the listing copy.

Pricing goes stale, and currency display is regional. Everything here was read on 3 November 2026. The Shopify App Store showed INR pricing for Dealeasy and AIOD in this session; the dollar figures above are converted at the page's own stated exchange rate and rounded. Discounty's regular USD price was stated directly on its listing. Confirm exact figures before installing.

Frequently asked questions

Which Shopify discount stacking apps actually have a free plan?

As of 3 November 2026, three of the five widely recommended discount stacking apps have a genuine $0 plan usable on a live store: NUO AI, Kite and Dealeasy. Discounty's free plan is also real but narrow. AIOD's free tier is restricted to development stores and cannot be used on a live storefront.

What does discount stacking actually mean?

Discount stacking means combining more than one discount mechanic on the same order — for example, a volume break plus a percentage-off code, or a free-gift trigger layered on top of a sitewide sale. Done without a policy, it can compound into a margin loss nobody budgeted for, which is why every app in this comparison frames stacking as a controlled feature, not an accident.

What actually ends a free discount stacking app plan?

Three different units among the apps with a usable free plan. Dealeasy caps at 5 offers. Discounty caps at 10 live discounted variants and 3 campaigns. Kite caps at 50 discount orders a month, resetting monthly. NUO AI states no cap. AIOD has no usable free plan at all on a live store.

Is AIOD's free plan usable on a real store?

No. AIOD's listing states its free tier is for development stores only. A live storefront starts on a paid tier from roughly $9.99/month. It still appears on ‘best discount stacking app’ roundups because the paid product itself is well-reviewed, not because the free tier applies to a real store.

Which free discount stacking app has the most room before it caps out?

For a store running one or two active promotions, Kite's monthly-resetting 50-order cap tends to go furthest before billing starts, since it isn't limited by a fixed count of offers or variants the way Dealeasy and Discounty are. NUO AI has no cap at all, with the trade-off of a much shorter review history.

Can native Shopify discount codes be combined with app-based stacking?

Yes, on most apps in this comparison, including AIOD and Discounty, which explicitly advertise combining native discount codes with automatic app-based offers. Confirm this specifically before relying on it, since Shopify's own discount-combination rules changed how codes and automatic discounts interact in recent years.

Why does NUO AI appear in its own comparison?

Because leaving it out would be its own kind of bias. NUO AI publishes this comparison and is one of the five apps in it. Every competitor's pricing below was read from its own Shopify App Store listing on 3 November 2026 and quoted verbatim, and NUO AI's weakest point — a short review history against competitors with hundreds to over a thousand reviews — is stated rather than hidden.

How many App Store reviews does NUO AI have?

Far fewer than the other four apps on this page, which range from 365 to 1,314 reviews as of 3 November 2026. A merchant choosing on track record alone should weigh that heavily; this comparison does not argue otherwise.

No cap to plan around.

If the caps above are what's putting you off, NUO AI has none — and a shorter track record, which you should weigh honestly against the alternatives on this page.
